![]() **Rhinoceros in Love (Lianai de Xiniu) Theater Avant-garde theater phenom Meng Jinghui (and his wife) made a big stir among young audiences across China with this show last year, prompting a reprise this month at Mengís new theater. A young boy, Ma Lu, falls madly in love with a sexy, mysterious girl, Ming Ming. When she rebukes all his approaches, his desperation drives him to kidnap her. **The Peony Pavilion, the classic Kunqu Opera, is on stage at the Imperial Granary, a perfect venue. The Imperial Granary was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) 600 years ago, exactly the time the Kunqu Opera was written. In order to further emphasize the origins of the Granary and the opera, the entire show will take place without the benefit of electricity.
