Family reasons push Lan Ye, VP, to leave JD

E-commerce giant JD announced Lan Ye (pictured), its chief public affairs officer and executive vice-president, will leave the company on May 31 due to family reasons. No replacement has been named. Lan's resignation follows JD's statement earlier in February that it will cut 10 percent of staff at senior management level. Since joining JD in 2012, Lan has served as chief marketing officer and has overseen marketing, sales and many other departments.
China Telecom elevates Ke Ruiwen to chairman
Ke Ruiwen, 55, general manager of China Telecommunications Group Corp Ltd, or China Telecom, has been promoted to chairman and secretary of the company's Party committee. Ke took over from Yang Jie, who was named chairman and secretary of the Party committee at China Mobile Ltd. Ke has served in numerous positions at senior management level, including president, COO, and board director.
Wu quits, Fan holds fort as Yidianzixun top editor
Wu Chenguang, chief editor of Yidianzixun, a news aggregating app, has stepped down, but will remain senior consultant to the company. His deputy Fan Jipeng will take over his role on an interim basis. Prior, Wu served numerous media groups, including CCTV, China News Weekly, and news portal Sohu.
Su receives regulator nod to pilot life insurer
The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission has approved the appointment of Su Hengxuan as president of China Life Insurance (Group) Co effective April 2. Su took over from Lin Dairen, who resigned last December.
58 Tongcheng hires Li as head of services unit
58 Tongcheng, a website that shares household information, named Li Zijian as its vice-president of operations, including management of its local services unit. The unit offers users information and services relating to housekeeping, moving, plumbing, house renovation, and repairs of electrical devices. Li will report to co-president He Mingke. Yao Jinbo, CEO of 58 Tongcheng, said Li's contributions are expected to bring new vigor to the company's growth. Prior, Li served ridebooking firm Didi Chuxing Technology Co Ltd.
Zhang retires, Cai new GM of Wahaha beverage unit
Zhang Honghui, general manager of the beverage subsidiary of Hangzhou Wahaha Group, China's major food and beverage producer, retired earlier this month. Zhang served the company for more than 20 years. Prior, he was a technician in the high-tech products department of Hangzhou Huqingyutang Pharmaceutical Co Ltd. He, however, remains a board member of Wahaha's medicine and healthcare products branch, and will continue as manager of its packaging branch. Meanwhile, Cai Lei, 40, was appointed new GM. Prior, Cai led the company's Xiasha production base in Hangzhou for many years.
