Where to drink beer in Shanghai

The Tap House Located on Yongkang Road, Shanghai’s drinking Mecca, The Tap House is perfect for people watching, people meeting and of course, drinking. They have a nice selection of brews on tap, including Rogue Farms, Blue Star and Mikkeller, the Danish "gypsy brewery" that collaborates with micro-brewers around the world.

Liquid Laundry This light airy space, full of chic tiles and hip industrial styling, is the latest offering from the people behind Boxing Cat Brewing. With their own award-winning beer brewed on site, this is a great place to enjoy long, decadent Sunday brunch with a hair-of-the-dog beer.

The Brew A sophisticated bar located in The Kerry Hotel in Pudong, The Brew not only serves up their innovative brews (brew master Leon Mickelson once distilled the taste of hot pot into a beer) they also have a solid menu of pub favorites. Their sleek décor, regular live music and quality service, make this an up-market drinking experience.

Boxing Cat Brewery This American style brewpub has two locations, and both are great places to kick back, eat a hearty pub meal and watch some sport on TV. Their Fuxing Road location has restaurant-style seating upstairs, but downstairs is pure pub, think leather couches, counter meals, and in-depth discussions on rugby. They have a selection of their own beers on tap, and generous happy hours.
