CRIENGLISH.com | Updated: 2013-07-18 09:16

Chopsticks & Beyond challenged four contestants to showcase their interpretations of Sichuan cuisine, using the featured ingredient of beef.

Alexandra Grillborzer (Germany), Tania Zozulya (Russia), Kiting Steven (Australia), and Ying Si (Thailand) all struggled to keep within the 45 minute time limit while preparing their dishes.

Li Bin, expert chef from the World Association for Chinese Cuisine chose beef as a key ingredient from Sichuan cuisine for the contestants to work with.

The contestants completed their dish in 45 minutes, and while they were cooking, hosts asked each contestant to answer one question related to Sichuan, and if they get the right answer they would have a chance to have one-minute advice time from the chef or have the chef cook for them for one minute.
