Too much sleep may indicate risk of dementia

A study from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Florida, the United States, showed that getting more than nine hours of sleep a night could indicate a higher risk of dementia. Researchers studied more than 5,000 Latino adults and concluded that too much sleep was linked to a decrease in memory and episodic learning, both risk factors of dementia. They haven't determined if too much sleep leads to dementia, or if the condition itself brings on the extra sleep. The study only looked at a Latino population.
