Skoda debuts Kamiq GT for young drivers
The Skoda Kamiq GT made its world premiere in Tianjin last Monday. The SUV is aimed at the younger generation of drivers. The car is 4,409 millimeters long and has a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. The Kamiq GT is equipped with advanced interconnected systems including iFlytek's intelligent voice recognition which applies artificial intelligence technology to recognize Chinese dialects. It is the fifth SUV from Skoda designed for China - its largest single market in the world. The model is planned to hit the market at the Guangzhou auto show next week.
BYD beckons with new hybrid launch
BYD launched the all-new Qin model with gasoline and electric versions on Tuesday in Beijing. The carmaker will provide a discount for customers who buy the gasoline car before Jan 25, 2020 with prices starting at 59,900 yuan ($8,558). The model is equipped with a DiLink 2.0 intelligent interconnected system and Bosch ESP 9.3 stability system. The electric version of the Qin has a range of 421 kilometers and has a suggested price starting at 129,900 yuan.
BMW releases books on safety and sports
German auto giant BMW released two guidebooks on children's traffic safety education and sports in Beijing on Friday. Funded by the China Charity Federation-BMW Warm Heart Fund, the 2019 BMW Children's Traffic Safety Education Guidebook contains a comprehensive children's traffic safety education curriculum and practical guidance for volunteer activities. Offering 30 lesson plans and videos, the Joyful Sports Guidebook helps teachers and volunteers to develop sports activities for left-behind and migrant children.
