54 countries voice support for efforts to fight terrorism in Xinjiang

A joint statement made on behalf of 54 countries at the United Nations on Tuesday firmly supported China's counterterrorism and deradicalization efforts in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The statement, submitted during a discussion on human rights at the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly in New York, praised China's people-centered development philosophy and achievements.

Belarus made the statement on behalf of Pakistan, Russia, Egypt, Bolivia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Serbia and 47 other nations.
