New stores on the way in drive to make life easier for consumers

Construction of convenience stores is to be promoted across China to help chains realize their consumption potential and make life easier for consumers.

On July 9, the Ministry of Commerce issued a notice on promoting the construction of brand chain convenience stores nationwide. It encouraged cities to optimize the layout of such stores, improve the level of service and strengthen the use of information technology.

The ministry said the development of convenience stores is beneficial to "improving consumption convenience, consumption quality and stimulating consumption potential".
