City CEO Soriano shrugs off China criticism

LONDON - Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano has denied the club is arrogant and said criticism of its preseason China tour will not affect its plans to expand in the world's most populous nation.

City was accused of failing to engage with Chinese fans and media during the tour, which featured a win over West Ham United in Nanjing and a penalty shootout defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in Shanghai, as part of the Premier League Asia Trophy mini-tournament.

City manager Pep Guardiola claimed the allegations were false and described the tour as "an incredible experience".
