37 envoys write to back China on human rights

GENEVA - Ambassadors of 37 countries sent a joint letter on Friday to the president of the UN Human Rights Council and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to show their support for China's human rights achievements.

"We commend China's remarkable achievements in the field of human rights by adhering to the people-centered development philosophy and protecting and promoting human rights through development," the letter said.

"We also appreciate China's contributions to the international human rights cause," it said.
