Man fined for driving go-kart on streets
An elderly man, surnamed Ye, was fined 1,000 yuan ($145) for driving his grandson's go-kart on the streets of Baoshan district on the morning of June 30. Ye admitted that he had violated traffic rules by driving the go-kart. Ye, a property management personnel, said he drove the boy's go-kart as he was in a hurry to get to his office, which is located 300 meters from his home. Ye had to help handle a situation in which a privately owned car had blocked the path of a garbage truck in the housing estate. Police said Ye was fined for illegally driving the go-kart as these are banned from the roads.
