31 dead, 15 injured as bus falls into gorge

At least 31 people were killed and 15 others injured on Monday after a bus skidded off a mountainous road and fell into a deep gorge in India-controlled Kashmir, said Angrez Singh Rana, the deputy commissioner of Kishtwar district. The accident took place near Keshwan village in Kishtwar district, about 210 kilometers south of Srinagar, the summer capital of India-controlled Kashmir. According to Rana, some of the injured were in critical condition. Police said the victims were locals on their way to district headquarters.
