China Daily | Updated: 2019-06-27 07:34

The president of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) says he is confident that breakdancing - aka 'breaking' - will feature as a medal event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

"I think we have a great chance. I am very confident that our b-boys and b-girls will compete at Paris 2024 as Olympic athletes," Shawn Tay told Xinhua on the sidelines of the inaugural WDSF World Breaking Championships in Nanjing.

On Sunday, b-girl Ami Yuasa of Japan and b-boy Menno van Gorp of the Netherlands beat a strong international field of 150 breakers to be crowned world champions.
