Manufacturing key for 'strong country'

Top political adviser Wang Yang called on his colleagues to give advise on promoting high-quality development of the country's manufacturing industry during a closing ceremony of a three-day meeting.

"Manufacturing is the foundation of a strong country and the main battlefield for high-quality economic development," said Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.

The CPPCC National Committee, the country's top political advisory body, held the seventh meeting of its standing committee from Monday to Wednesday in Beijing.
