The campaign provided students with information related to trademarks through a series of activities. IP education for teenagers can cultivate respect for rights, as well as encourage them to innovate, organizers said.

Bid to lure global venture capitalists
Chaoyang district will set up an innovative tech industrial cluster featuring international venture capital investment, according to a recent forum held in Beijing. The area plans to attract venture capital institutions to foster globally influential unicorn companies and leading companies in certain fields over three to five years. The district also launched a service platform that offers notifications, policy interpretation and networking. The platform uses artificial intelligence and big data to better help innovation and entrepreneurship.

Financial rewards for whistleblowers
The province in South China will initiate an incentive policy on July 1 to encourage the public to combat intellectual property infringements. Informants who offer authorities key clues to counterfeiting, piracy and other violations of IP rights will be rewarded with up to 500,000 yuan ($72,310) per case. Rewards to those who make substantial contribution to such investigations are not subject to the limit. People can report via phone calls, fax, emails and popular social networking platforms, such as QQ, WeChat and weibo.

Loan incentive for owners of noted brands
The province's market regulation authority recently released a plan to promote trademark-collateralized loans in a bid to help companies, especially private businesses, gain more access to finance. Owners of trademarks with a high profile and established reputation will benefit from the initiative, provided that their residences are located in Jiangxi or their products are produced in the province. Trademarks must also have been valid for at least three years since registration and be involved in no dispute; and their related businesses need to stay profitable for two consecutive years.

IP service center opens in high-tech zone
The Hangzhou High-Tech Zone (Binjiang) launched an intellectual property service center recently. It features quick authorization, recognition and protection of related rights. The center aims to establish a service covering all fields and the full chain of IP. It will establish an IP protection center; bring in financial institutions such as a Bank of Hangzhou branch and an IP investment and operation platform for the internet of things industry and attract several noted IP service agencies.
