Queen Elizabeth and British Prime Minister Theresa May led commemorative events on the south coast of England on Wednesday to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in northern France in World War II.
Tens of thousands of spectators, as well as around 300 veterans of the conflict who are now more than 90 years old, gathered for the event on Southsea Common. Further events will be staged in France on Thursday, the anniversary of the landings.
