China Daily | Updated: 2019-05-31 07:54

TEHERAN - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ruled out the possibility of talks with the United States, amid the rising tensions between the two countries.

"We will not negotiate with the United States as it will be fruitless and a loss," Khamenei was quoted by Iran's IRNA news agency as saying on Wednesday.

The Iranian leader said that negotiations are the "US tactic to complement its pressures policy on Iran". Iran possesses the "necessary tools" to confront US pressures.
