Conference urges respect for global diversity, harmony

Meeting's participants call for greater mutual learning among civilizations

Participants in the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations called for peoples in Asia to build greater confidence in their own civilizations and increase mutual learning among civilizations to address current global challenges in a document released on Friday.

More than 2,000 officials and representatives in sectors such as culture, education, film and television, media, tourism and think tanks from all 47 countries in Asia, as well as some countries in other parts of the world and international organizations, attended the conference held on May 15 in Beijing.
