NPC head seeks closer Austria ties

VIENNA - Top legislator Li Zhanshu paid an official visit from Saturday to Tuesday to Vienna where he met with Austrian leaders to promote bilateral ties, and he expressed China's stance on upholding multilateralism and free trade.

In meeting with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, Li, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, conveyed President Xi Jinping's greetings.

"China is willing to work together with Austria to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state and promote the in-depth development of cooperation in various fields," Li said.
