ASIAN CULTURE BLOOMS

Editor's Note: President Xi Jinping delivered the opening speech at the Asian Culture Carnival at the National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, in Beijing on Wednesday evening. The Chinese people sincerely hope that all Asian countries can look after one another and ride on the same boat, Xi said. He called for joint efforts to create a better future for Asia and the world.

"All Asian nations are home to ancient and splendid civilizations," Xi said, adding that the different Asian civilizations are unique and they also reinforce one another.

The president pointed out that the diversity of Asian civilizations renders the Asian cultures richer, more colorful and more vibrant.
