Editor's note: Many Chinese moms tend to get angry when helping their kids do homework. So stressed out are some moms that one suffered a heart attack and ended up in a hospital last year. Why do Chinese mothers get so tense when it comes to their kids' education, and what should be done to ease their nerves? With Mothers' Day just a day away, two experts share their views on the issue with China Daily's Yao Yuxin. Excerpts follow:

Fathers should share child-raising duties

The traditional family model of the man bringing home the bacon and the woman looking after the family doesn't seem to have changed much even today. As a result, Chinese mothers still shoulder most of the responsibilities of raising kids.
