Aion S

GAC New Energy Automobile Co launched its Aion S sedan, the first model built based on its GEP platform, in late April. The post-subsidy prices of its four variants range from 139,800 to 205,800 yuan ($20,758 to $30,565). The sedan, thanks to its high-density batteries and efficient electric drive system, has a range of up to 510 kilometers on one charge. The Aion S also has Level 2 autonomous driving features and a roof that utilizes solar energy for cabin ventilation and battery charging. The model allows for up to 16,800 different customization choices, covering the range, the exterior and smart functions. Since presales started on March 1, the carmaker has received more than 30,000 orders.

Odyssey Sport Hybrid

GAC Honda Automobile Co launched the hybrid version of its popular Odyssey MPV on April 29 in Chengdu, Sichuan province. The model, called Odyssey Sport Hybrid, features a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle i-VTEC engine and two-motor hybrid technology, generating a maximum output of 158 kW. The electric motors have a top torque of 315 Nm. It has fuel consumption of 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers and meets State VI emissions standards. The model has six variants and comes in two dimensions: 4,847 mm in length, 1,820 in width and 1,712 mm (or 1,702mm) in height. The carmaker has updated its Honda Sensing driving assist system, ensuring a safe and smooth ride on expressways and urban roads. The model, available in five colors, is priced from 229,800 to 323,800 yuan ($34,112.42 to $48,091).
