First anniversary of Dominican Republic ties celebrated

President Xi Jinping and Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina exchanged congratulatory messages on Wednesday to celebrate the first anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between their countries.

In his message, Xi said that when China and the Dominican Republic formally established diplomatic relations in May 2018, they opened a new chapter in bilateral relations.

Noting that Medina paid a successful state visit to China in November, Xi said that during the visit, the two leaders jointly drew a blueprint for the future development of bilateral relations and reached many important consensuses.
