By Agencies and Xinhua | China Daily | Updated: 2019-04-25 07:34

NASA's InSight lander has picked up a gentle rumble on Mars, believed to be the first "marsquake" ever detected, The Associated Press reported.

InSight's quake monitor recorded and measured the faint signal on April 6, the lander's 128th day on Mars, Xinhua News Agency reported. Scientists announced the finding on Tuesday.

The faint rumble is roughly equal to a magnitude-2.5 earthquake, Reuters reported.
