Crews continue to battle forest fire

A total of 1,092 people were sent on Monday to fight forest fires in Sichuan province that have been raging since April 2. The fire in Muli county, which broke out on March 30, was thought to be extinguished on April 2, but strong winds caused it to flare again. On Monday, firefighters again had it under control. All firefighters withdrew to rest after 6:30 pm on Monday. According to local authorities, as of Tuesday, no known hot spots remain in Muli. More than 200 people will continue the cleanup.
