Proposed protection measures considered by political advisers

Protection of the Yellow River was raised at the annual gathering of China's top political advisers last month.

A proposal to this effect was submitted by the Jiusan Society, one of the country's eight non communist parties, to the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Society members proposed including Yellow River estuary wetland protection and allocation of water resources for the wetland in the ecological protection work of the Yellow River Basin to ensure the wetland can obtain sufficient water.
