Fugitive returns to country, surrenders

Yuan Guofang, a fugitive suspected of bribery, returned to China on Tuesday to surrender to authorities, according to China's top anti-graft authorities on Wednesday. Yuan, a former official with the Zhejiang branch of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, fled overseas 25 years ago, according to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission. A red notice by Interpol was issued in October 2003. The illicit money he got has been recovered.
