Joint development of BRI with Kazakhstan boosted

China and Kazakhstan agreed on Thursday to enhance their joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The two countries have always been at the forefront in building the Belt and Road and have achieved fruitful results over the past six years, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a news conference in Beijing after meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov.

"(The joint development) also generated a demonstrative effect in Eurasia as well as in the world," Wang said, adding that the two countries will focus on cooperation in trade, capacity expansion and interconnectivity to create a new format for bilateral cooperation.
