Ex-cyberspace, publicity official sentenced

Lu Wei, former head of the Cyberspace Administration of China and former deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Tuesday for bribery by the Ningbo Intermediate People's Court in Zhejiang province.

He was also fined 3 million yuan ($447,000).

The bribes he accepted and other gains will be turned over to the State treasury, the court said.
