Deals signed to reinforce teamwork in traffic, trade

China and France signed multibillion-dollar deals during President Xi Jinping's state visit as the two heads of state agreed to forge a more solid, stable and vibrant comprehensive strategic partnership.

Xi and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, witnessed the signing of 14 cooperation documents at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Monday, which include the purchase of 300 Airbus aircraft worth $35 billion.

Speaking at a joint news conference with the French president after the signing ceremony, Xi said he and Macron agreed to boost mutual political trust, respect each other's core interests and major concerns, and contribute more positive energy to global peace, stability and prosperity.
