Tributes pouring in for late HK NPC deputy

Praise is pouring in for Hong Kong businessman and deputy to the National People's Congress Peter Wong Man-kong, who died of illness on Monday at the age of 70.

NPC deputies expressed deep condolences after Wong's death before the third plenary meeting of the second session of the 13th NPC held on Tuesday morning. The meeting was scheduled to hear work reports from the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

The Secretariat of the NPC also issued a statement to express its sorrow over Wong's passing.
