Most people favor letting teens hail ride-shares alone

By Wang Keju | China Daily | Updated: 2019-03-05 07:13

An online poll by ride-hailing company Didi found that most people are in favor of allowing teenagers under 18 years old to ride in Didi cars without a supervising adult.

According to the survey, netizens believe that ensuring a safer ride lies more in tougher management of drivers than imposing restrictions on a passenger's age, and there is no reason that juveniles under 18 cannot use a ride-hailing service alone if they can take a taxi by themselves.

It is Didi company policy not to let people under 18 hail rides alone.
