Chinese companies in UK record robust growth
Chinese companies in the manufacturing and industrial sectors showed robust performance in the United Kingdom last year, according to a report by London-based consultancy Grant Thornton.
The Grant Thornton Tou Ying Tracker 2018, developed in collaboration with China Daily, shows 13 out of Britain's top 30 fastest-growing Chinese companies are industrial or manufacturing businesses. The top 30 have a combined turnover of 43 billion pounds ($56.74 billion) and employ more than 3,500 people.
To be included in the list of Tou Ying, which translates to "invest UK", companies must be UK-registered, with an audited turnover of more than 5 million pounds for the last two years. They must also be at least 50 percent owned by an entity or individual in the Chinese mainland.
