3 officials arrested, another is charged
Three vice-ministerial officials have been arrested on graft allegations and another was charged, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Tuesday. Wu Zhen, former deputy head of the now-defunct China Food and Drug Administration; Li Shixiang, former vice-chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and Jin Suidong, former vice-chairman of the Henan Committee of the CPPCC, were arrested separately on suspicion of abuse of power and taking bribes. Zeng Zhiquan, a former senior official in Guangdong province, has been charged with taking bribes, the SPP said. Zeng is a former member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Committee of the Communist Party of China and former head of the provincial United Front Work Department.
