Police probe P2P lending platforms
Investigations have been launched into more than 380 peer-to-peer lending platforms in a bid to control wide financial risks, the Ministry of Public Security said on Sunday. According to preliminary data, 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) worth of assets on P2P lending platforms, including cash, bank deposits and real estate, have been sealed, seized or frozen by police across the country. The ministry vowed to continue its crackdown on illegal fundraising and to safeguard the rights and interests of the people.
