Lingzhi from pine tree fetches 8,000 yuan

A Lanzhou resident surnamed Huang has sold a 4.85-kilogram wild lingzhi, an oriental fungus known for its health benefits and anti-aging effects, that he picked from a pine tree while on holiday on a snowy mountain in the south of Gansu province for 8,000 yuan ($1,180). The purchaser contacted Huang after he posted a photo of the lingzhi-55 centimeters wide and 37 cm high - on his WeChat account. A professor from Lanzhou University told the media it was rare to find such a big lingzhi in the wild.
