NEW YORK - New York City in the United States welcomed a record 65.2 million tourists in 2018, marking a ninth consecutive year of growth, the city's tourism board said on Wednesday.
According to the latest statistics released by NYC & Company, 51.6 million of the visitors came from the United States and more than 13 million were international tourists, mostly from the United Kingdom, China, Canada, Brazil and France.
Notably, the number of tourists from China rose to 1.1 million from 1.04 million in 2017, despite months-long trade friction between the two countries, which had concerned some tourism insiders.
