Arrest warrant issued for former official

The Supreme People's Procuratorate, the country's top prosecuting authority, said on Friday that it had issued an arrest warrant for Zeng Zhiquan, a former official of vice-ministerial level, for graft charges. Zeng, a former member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Guangdong Provincial Committee, was expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office in early January for serious discipline and legal violations, such as overspending on official receptions and seeking benefits for relatives in business operations.
