Ex-high official under investigation

Mu Huaiguo, former deputy secretary-general of the Tianjin municipal government has been placed under investigation on allegations of graft, the city's Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection said on Wednesday. The city's Supervisory Commission is also involved in the probe, which is looking at possible "serious violations of Party discipline and laws", it said. Mu, 59, was born in Tianjin and spent most of his career in the city.
