Ex-Party chief under investigation

Zhao Zhengyong, former Party chief of Shaanxi province, is being probed for suspected serious disciplinary and legal violations, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, the top watchdogs, said on Tuesday. No more details were posted. Zhao, 67, a native of Maanshan, Anhui province, began his career in 1968 in his hometown. He came to Shaanxi province for work in 2001 and became the provincial Party chief in 2012. In 2016, he was relieved on account of his age.
