Nation to target grain output of 600m tons

China is looking to produce at least 600 million metric tons of grain in 2019, a top official said on Sunday. It will also strive to keep the total area of grains sown to 110 million hectares, said Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Han Changfu. Han said securing food security is the top priority of the ministry, and the efforts will not be slackened. China achieved another bumper harvest in 2018 with grains output remaining at a high level of 657.9 million tons.
