Fragments from history paving long-lasting friendships

The first time I heard about Portugal was in 1999, the year when it handed Macao back to China.

I was in third grade at primary school in Sichuan province. One day, our headmistress gathered all us kids into the sports field and announced the news with an air of both solemnity and excitement.

Then, word by word, she taught us a new song written to mark this historic moment in Macao and China's history, and the lyrics still remain vivid in my mind.
