Police recommend indicting Netanyahu
Israeli police on Sunday recommended indicting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara for bribery and other offenses, the third such recommendation against the premier in recent months. The attorney general will now decide whether to bring indictments in the case, which centers on regulatory benefits allegedly granted to telecommunications firm Bezeq in exchange for positive coverage from a related media company. Police in February recommended indicting Netanyahu in two other corruption investigations. Netanyahu denies all allegations.

Students killed after landslides hit inn
Seven university students were killed and seven others seriously wounded after landslides struck an inn in North Sumatra province of western Indonesia on Sunday, a senior rescuer said. The students had been staying in the inn during their vacation in Daulu village in Karo district, according to the head of operational unit of the provincial search and rescue office, Muhammad Agus Wibisono.

Chinese called on to improve cultural ties
Young overseas Chinese in Germany were called on to grab the chances created by China's continuing reform and opening-up and make more contributions to their home country. More than 200 elite overseas Chinese in Germany attended a meeting organized by DialogDE, a non-governmental organization committed focused on talent exchanges. Ma Qian, a lawyer working in Frankfurt since 2003, told young Chinese in Germany that they can play a key role in exchanges between the countries.

Zoo defends decision to kill snow leopard
A British zoo has defended its decision to kill a rare snow leopard that got out of its enclosure when a door was left open. Dudley Zoo said it had "no other option" but to shoot 8-year-old Margaash after he escaped on Oct 23. The central England zoo issued a statement on Friday saying the leopard escaped when a door was left open through "keeper error". It said security had been reviewed after the incident, which led to disciplinary action.
