China Daily | Updated: 2018-11-29 07:38

Newly crowned Chinese Super League player of the year Wu Lei has been named in China's provisional 27-man squad for next year's AFC Asian Cup.

Wu's 27 goals helped Shanghai SIPG clinch its maiden CSL title earlier this month as he became the first domestic player to finish as the league's top scorer since 2007.

The 27-year-old, who has been linked with a move to English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, is joined in the squad by two SIPG teammates, goalkeeper Yan Junling and fullback Shi Ke.
