China's Under-15 national team has begun a 10-month training stint in Spain designed to take the youngsters' tactical understanding to the next level.
The initiative, which is part of a collaboration between the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and La Liga, will see the boys initially compete in a regional league in Madrid before stepping up to face the youth teams of the city's top-flight clubs - Real, Atletico and Getafe.
"The project includes football training, but also academic and cultural education," said Martina Olivas, La Liga's international deputy director.
