Washington urged to fulfill commitments

By Dong Leshuo in Washington | China Daily | Updated: 2018-11-28 07:04

China's ambassador to the United States, Cui Tiankai, said that he hoped the upcoming meeting between President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump will enable both sides to make progress on key issues.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal published on Monday, Cui said he expects the two presidents to review bilateral relations when they meet during this week's 2018 Argentina G20 Leaders' Summit in the capital Buenos Aires.

"I think it's necessary for the two leaders to review developments of relations, and also give us clear strategic guidance on where the relationship is going and how the two sides should conduct this important and complicated relationship together," Cui said. "Hopefully, this meeting will enable us to make further progress on many fronts, including on economic and trade issues."
