The UN Security Council has condemned "in the strongest terms" Friday's attacks against the Chinese consulate-general in Karachi and a market in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Members of the council appreciated the swift response of the Pakistani authorities, expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims' families and to the Pakistani government, and wished a speedy and full recovery for those injured, said the council in a statement. Four people, including two police officers, were killed in the attack.

Mumbai attacks anniversary marked
India observed the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai on Monday as the United States announced a $5 million award for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the perpetrators. The gunmen who waged the attack were killed or captured. But US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday that the planners of the attack had not been convicted. On Nov 26, 2008, militants carried out a series of coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai, leaving 166 people dead in the four-day siege. Six US citizens were among those killed.

Mitsubishi ousts Ghosn as chairman
Mitsubishi Motors Corp said on Monday that its board removed Carlos Ghosn from his role as chairman, following his arrest and ouster from alliance partner Nissan Motor Co last week for alleged financial misconduct. Ghosn's sacking in a unanimous board vote marked the end of his chairmanship of Japanese automakers, just two years after he was praised for bringing a steadying hand to Mitsubishi Motors following a cheating scandal in 2016. CEO Osamu Masuko will become temporary chairman.
