Shenzhen Customs improves business environment

By Chen Hong | China Daily | Updated: 2018-11-20 08:20

Shenzhen Customs has optimized its procedures and improved efficiency to ensure stable growth of trade in the booming southern city that has ranked first in exports among Chinese mainland cities for 25 years.

According to statistics from Shenzhen Customs, the average time spent on clearance for import in Shenzhen has been further cut by 17.1 percent year-on-year to merely 1.56 hours - the shortest for a single customs area anywhere in the country - in the first three quarters of this year. It was reduced by a third last year from the year before.

From January to September, the average time spent on clearance for export in Shenzhen decreased dramatically by 42.7 percent year-on-year to 6.82 hours. This means that its target to cut the time on export clearance by one third for the full year of 2018 has been fulfilled ahead of time, according to the customs.
