Weidai makes NYSE debut
Weidai, which provides an auto-secured loan platform for small businesses in China, rang the New York Stock Exchange opening bell on Thursday, in celebration of its initial public offering. Trading under the ticker symbol of "WEI," Weidai debuted with 4.5 million American depositary shares - each representing one Class A ordinary share - worth $10 each, for a total offering of around $45 million. After climbing to $10.89 a share soon after opening, Weidai finished the day down at $10.25.
