Jiangsu vice-governor under investigation

Miao Ruilin, vice-governor of Jiangsu province, has been placed under investigation for alleged serious violations of discipline and law, according to the website of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Thursday.
Miao, who was born in 1964, took office as vice-governor in January. He was also a member of the 18th CPC National Congress and a member of the 11th and 12th National People's Congress, according to the Jiangsu government website.
He worked as deputy Party chief and mayor of Nanjing, Jiangsu province, from 2013 to 2018. In 2016, he was appointed director of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, one of 20 national-level new areas in China.
